How to use Avène Cicalfate+ Scar Gel?
Especially indicated for post-surgical or dermatological interventions on both face and body. In addition, it can be used on adults and children (from 1 year old on).
Apply Cicalfate+ Scar Gel twice a day. To begin with, have the area cleaned and then apply the gel. Massage gently for about 5 minutes. However, don’t worry as its protective film makes massaging easier. Combine with Cicalfate+ Cream. If the scar is exposed to the sun, it is essential to use a very high sun protection index.

When should I start massaging my cesarean scar with a healing cream?
We recommend using Cicalfate+ Repairing Protective Cream as soon as the stitches are removed to repair the skin. Once the scar is re-epidermized, massage it with Cicalfate+ Scar Gel for up to 6 months.
Can I apply sun cream on top of Cicalfate Scar gel?
Yes, it is very important to protect scars from the sun to prevent them from darkening and/or thickening. You can apply a sun cream directly over Cicalfate+ Scar Gel. Do not forget to apply a sufficient amount and reapply every 2 hours at most during prolonged exposure.
Tips to camouflage the scars
There are several techniques, depending on the color of your scar. Start by applying Cicalfate+ Repairing Cream as a make-up primer. Then, neutralize the color by applying a Couvrance Stick Corrector, remove the product with your fingertip and touch the scar until you get a gray or light beige hue (in brown scars):

Yellow stick if the scar is blue-purple.
Green stick if the scar is red.
Coral stick if the scar is brown.

Then, use the sponge to take some of the Couvrance Compact Foundation Cream, then place it over the color-corrected scar so it doesn’t sag. Set your makeup with Avène Translucent Mosaic Powder. Extend the duration of the concealer by spraying Avène Thermal Spring Water 20cm from the scar. Let the thermal water evaporate.
